Like finishing those strawberries, making some cookies and more hot cross buns (this time using sesame seeds for "raisins" which I think worked pretty nicely - do you agree?) and throwing in some pears for good measure. Oh, and what the heck, an easter bunny! Yeah, his ear fell off. *snort* He's a work in progress.

There are some cakes in the works, as well as ice-creams and a television set and a radio and other little delights, when the mood strikes.

Here are the progress pics so far on flickr, to see how the recent changes have improved things.

I added skirting and molding around all of the rooms, took off the window and door frames and painted and sanded, stuck and filled and repainted them uniform white throughout. I think it looks much better this way. The basement and living room have been repainted to cohere with the overall colour scheme of purpley pink (cliche, I know, but I can't help myself!) and the hall has been repapered with a yellow matching the attic room. It harmonizes and I'm happy with it at last. Plain old white in the kitchen and hall wasn't doing either room any favours. The kitchen has been spruced up with brick-effect wallpaper, and had its floor tiles extended all the way to the front of the house. They need repainting now, but in comparison to the molding, skirting, etc, that's a small job. I also glued little skylight windows to the inside of the attic roof. All the cracks in the tiles have been filled in, making things look much neater and nicer.

Overall, I think the effect is much more professional:

(You can see the removable "carpet" (pink) which fits into both the bedroom and kitchen, allowing a child to decide to rearrange the rooms so the chequered kitchen can become the sitting room with the bigger room with planks being kitchen, for larger play area, or the bedroom can have pink carpeting. I'll make some more in other colours when I have time. As you can see, I'm planning on turning a book case into a doll house project next, but for now it helps to see what I've got and what I've got to do.)

The rooms look much better with furniture in them.

And they'll look even better when I improve with my doll-making ambitions:

Wish me luck! :)
